Coldspring-Oakhurst has gone a perfect 4-0 against Crockett recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Coldspring-Oakhurst Trojans will be playing at home against the Crockett Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. Coldspring-Oakhurst is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.
Coldspring-Oakhurst came into their game last Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 13-1 to Huntington. The match marked the Trojans' lowest-scoring game so far this season.
Coldspring-Oakhurst saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Trinity Rosales, who went 1-for-2 with one double.
Meanwhile, Crockett never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They blew past Hull-Daisetta 17-0. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by seven runs or more this season.
Alexandra Kane and Marissa Allison made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Kane tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Allison pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-low in walks (zero). At the plate, Kane went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs, while Allison scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits Kane has posted since back in February of 2024.
In other batting news, Crockett let Arieanna Galicia and Katherine Kane run wild. Galicia went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI and two runs, while Kane scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits Kane has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Akeelah Whitting, who scored three runs while going 3-for-4.
Crockett always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .594. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Coldspring-Oakhurst's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-6. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Crockett, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.
Tuesday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Coldspring-Oakhurst has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .460. However, it's not like Crockett struggles in that department as they've averaged .491. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
