South Garner is 6-1 against the Pirates since November of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The South Garner Titans will look to defend their home court against the Corinth Holders Pirates at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Friday, South Garner earned a 67-54 win over the Storm. Given South Garner's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 101st, while the Storm are ranked 310th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Najai Hines was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 13 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ekene Ogboko, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 13 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Corinth Holders' recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their tenth straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 81-56 walloping at the hands of Cleveland.
South Garner is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. As for Corinth Holders, they dropped their record down to 1-19 with that defeat, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season.
Everything came up roses for South Garner against the Pirates when the teams last played two weeks ago as the team secured a 55-26 win. Will South Garner repeat their success, or do the Pirates have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
