Linden extended the longest winning streak in 1A Region 1 this week by beating Marengo, 58-0. This was the team's seventh consecutive win.
Blacksher made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 13,209 from 13,814. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 27-20 victory over the Bulldogs last week.
St. Luke's Episcopal's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Drew Favors threw for 167 and three touchdowns and Justin Ware had 69 yards receiving. On the ground George Payne chipped in 263 yards. Dalton Becker helped St. Luke's Episcopal's passing attack out by catching three balls for 46 yards.
Favors has thrown for 1008 yards and 14 touchdowns this season, while Becker has 22 catches for 390 yards. Payne leads the league in rushing with 1361 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Fruitdale takes on St. Luke's Episcopal. At the moment, the Pirates are in fourth, while St. Luke's Episcopal is in second.
Linden led 1A Region 1 in scoring this week after putting up 58 points on the Panthers.
