Given Hargrave Military Academy's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 31st in Virginia, while Mount Zion Christian Academy is ranked 249th in North Carolina), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hargrave Military Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dante Kearse, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 11 rebounds. Those 25 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Tim King, who scored 18 points.
