The Mesa Verde Mavericks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They were beaten by Rio Linda 66-34. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Mesa Verde has suffered since December 28, 2023.
Mesa Verde lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Roman Weddle, who scored 11 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Weddle has scored all season. Jeremiah Dauphine was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Mesa Verde's loss dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Rio Linda, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-14.
Mesa Verde will head out on the road to challenge Woodland at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rio Linda, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Dixon at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
