The St. John Bosco Academy Patriots entered their tilt with the Highland Huskies with two consecutive wins dating back to last season but they'll enter their next game with three. St. John Bosco Academy secured a 32-26 W over Highland on Thursday. That's another feather in the cap for St. John Bosco Academy, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Highland's loss came despite strong showings from Kylee Beck and Shaylee Stamper. Beck scored five points along with 14 rebounds and nine blocks, while Stamper scored 12 points along with five rebounds. Stamper continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.
St. John Bosco Academy pushed their record up to 1-0 with that win, which was their third straight at home dating back to last season. Admittedly, the team didn't face the toughest opposition across those games, namely Highland, they, and they. As for they, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. John Bosco Academy won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Deary at 6:00 p.m. on December 15th. Highland will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Clearwater Valley at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024. Clearwater Valley comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 16 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
