The Washington County Panthers's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Great Bridge Wildcats at 1:30 p.m. on January 15th. Washington County knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine matchups -- so hopefully Great Bridge likes a good challenge.
Washington County put the finishing touches on their fifth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They blew past Gates County 75-38 on the road. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 42-16.
Brandon Carter Jr. was his usual excellent self, dropping a triple-double on 15 points, 11 rebounds, and ten assists. Carter Jr. is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Amari Chesson, who scored 15 points along with nine rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, Great Bridge was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Wednesday as they fell 49-44 to Bayside. Great Bridge has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Washington County's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-0. As for Great Bridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-10.
