SYRACUSE, Utah -
Syracuse (Utah) came into Saturday's contest ranked No. 3 in Utah, but was stunned by
Davis (Kaysville, Utah), 21-7. Davis was ranked at No. 15 in the MaxPreps Freeman Rankings for Utah coming into the week.
The teams went into the locker room at halftime deadlocked at seven. The Darts took the lead indefinitely on a touchdown run by
Parker Rose in the third quarter.
Syracuse's lone touchdown came on a 5-yard pass from
Kole Tracy to
Josh Thalman in the first quarter.
A 14-10 Davis victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.
The loss comes after Syracuse defeated Mountain Crest 21-10 last week.
In a 5A Region 1 game next week Syracuse (3-1) takes on Northridge, and Davis (4-0) will go up against Fremont also in a 5A Region 1 game.
