Sunset recap September 4, 2013
Shane Green and Dawayne Jackson provided fans with a highlight when they connected against El Rancho. The longest such play in Sunset this season, the connection resulted in 70 yards.
Fountain Valley moved up to 86 from 197 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Barons climbed the ranks as a result of topping Foothill 49-28.
Marina's dynamic duo of Daylan Harmeyer and Josh Gordon proved to be unstoppable against the Dons, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Harmeyer threw for 126 yards and Gordon had 88 yards receiving. Jackson helped Marina's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 75 yards.
The Vikings' dynamic duo of Harmeyer and Gordon proved tough for El Rancho to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Gordon was the best wideout in the league this week as Marina lost to VINNIE LOPEZ's team.
Marcus Swanigan provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Edison bested Centennial. Swanigan's favorite target this week was Jacob Marines, who caught 4 passes for 31 yards.
Harmeyer put up the best numbers through the air as George Pascoe's team lost to the Dons.
Swanigan was the most successful running back in Sunset this week. In 19 carries, he ran for 142 yards as the Chargers fell to El Rancho. Matthew Gane also contributed to the rushing game with 26 yards on the ground.

Huntington Beach was the team made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from fourth to first in the league. The Oilers defeated Bakersfield Christian 32-10 earlier in the week.
