She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her six plate appearances. That stolen base was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Sophia Crossgrove was incredible, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, six RBI, and four runs. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Isabella Ackley, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 4-for-5.
Hilltop kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Edgerton came up short against Fairview on Thursday and fell 6-1. The match marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring game so far this season.
Hilltop pushed their record up to 7-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games.
