The Franklin Indians will be playing at home against the Kenwood Bluebirds at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Monday, Franklin strolled past Pikesville with points to spare, taking the game 56-37. Given Franklin's advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 100th, while Pikesville is ranked 287th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Kenwood entered their tilt with Patapsco with ten consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 11. Kenwood enjoyed a cozy 68-53 win over Patapsco on Monday.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Kenwood to victory, but perhaps none more so than Austin Mbuyi, who scored 17 points along with five steals. Another player making a difference was Andrew Otuyelu, who scored 18 points along with five steals.
Franklin's win bumped their record up to 17-2. As for Kenwood, they pushed their record up to 11-8 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Franklin couldn't quite finish off Kenwood in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 and fell 44-41. Can Franklin avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
