Basketball Recap: Arthur-Okaw Christian Now 8-1 over Last Nine Games

Arthur-Okaw Christian won the last time they faced Judah Christian and things went their way on Saturday too. The Arthur-Okaw Christian Conquering Riders walked away with a 39-27 win over the Judah Christian Tribe. The team accrued 29 points in the first half and coasted on those for the victory.

Arthur-Okaw Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Avery Herschberger, who posted ten points and six steals. Herschberger has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 12 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Annabelle Haskins, who went 5 of 11 on her way to 11 points.

Despite the loss, Judah Christian saw an underclassman step up: freshman Masyn Miller put up 19 points and four steals. That was a full 70.4% of Judah Christian's points, marking the third time in a row she's had more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Peighton Joines, who posted four points in addition to seven boards and four steals.

Arthur-Okaw Christian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. As for Judah Christian, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Arthur-Okaw Christian will head out to challenge Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Judah Christian, they will host Calvary Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on January 13th.
