Dothan has won four straight games at home, while Andalusia has won four straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Wolves will host the Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Dothan will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Thursday, then bounced right back against Carroll on Thursday. The Wolves were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over the Eagles.
Brantlee McCarthy made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. Those six strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Sara Harris was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Makenna Descalzi, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Dothan was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Carroll only posted a batting average of .125.
Meanwhile, while Andalusia put up some runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Florala. The Bulldogs put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 10-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won eight in a row.
Not much got past Kailey Jackson, who gave up just a hit and racked up nine Ks to keep Florala off the board.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Taya Newton, who scored four runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-4. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Kenzie Barrow was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double.
Dothan has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-12-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Andalusia, their victory bumped their record up to 23-8.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Dothan hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .347. However, it's not like Andalusia struggles in that department as they've averaged .314. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Dothan couldn't quite get it done against Andalusia when the teams last played back in March of 2023 as they fell 6-2. Will the Wolves have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
