It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Booker Tornadoes had no problem doing just that on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 33-17 victory over Fort Meade. Booker pushed the score to 33-9 by the end of the third, a deficit Fort Meade cut but never quite recovered from.
Josiah Booker had a dynamite game for Booker, rushing for 134 yards and three touchdowns on only eight carries. Booker's longest rush was for an incredible 74 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Omarion Patterson, who rushed for 65 yards and a touchdown.
The victory makes it two in a row for Booker and bumps their season record up to 7-4. As for Fort Meade, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 9-1.
Booker will head out on the road to face off against Lemon Bay at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lemon Bay will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. Fort Meade does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
