Clewiston has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the LaBelle Cowboys/Cowgirls at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Clewiston has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Clewiston stacked a fifth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They put the hurt on Glades Central with a sharp 44-22 victory.
Meanwhile, LaBelle took their match at home on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 70-25 win over the Wolfpack. That looming 70-25 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for LaBelle yet this season.
Marissa Burchard was her usual excellent self, shooting 7-for-16 from long range and dropping a double-double on 41 points and 12 steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Latraevia Belvin, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds.
Clewiston's win bumped their record up to 11-5. As for LaBelle, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season.
Clewiston won a contest that couldn't have been any closer when the teams last played two weeks ago, slipping by the Cowboys/Cowgirls 51-50. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Burchard, who scored 24 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
