The Erie Red Devils''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They took a serious blow against Central Heights, falling 48-20. Erie lost against Central Heights in their previous head to head back in October of 2018, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 40-28 score last time.
Central Heights can attribute much of their success to Brycean Velez, who rushed for 230 yards and a touchdown while picking up 9.6 yards per carry. Velez was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 55 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Baker Moore, who picked up 49 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Erie now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Central Heights, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Erie does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Central Heights will square off against Olpe at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Olpe is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
