Basketball Game Preview: Meadow Bridge Wildcats vs. Bath County Chargers

The Meadow Bridge Wildcats will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against the Bath County Chargers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Meadow Bridge is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.

Meadow Bridge is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Van: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Meadow Bridge blew Van out of the water with a 47-7 final score. With the Wildcats ahead 26-0 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Kierston Rozell went supernova for Meadow Bridge, going 6 of 10 on her way to 15 points. Rozell is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Kyndal Gilkerson, who went 6 for 8 en route to 12 points.

Meadow Bridge smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 15 offensive rebounds in three consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Bath County was just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 33-32 to Eastern Montgomery. The Chargers haven't had much luck with the Mustangs recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.

Bath County's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Meadow Bridge, their win bumped their record up to 3-0.
