The Richton Rebels can finally bid farewell to their six-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They came out on top against Mize by a score of 48-38. For Richton, this counts as revenge for the 4-0 defeat Mize walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2020.
Leading Richton to victory were Ta'Nya Bradley and Dherria Barlow. Bradley scored 12 points along with six rebounds, while Barlow scored 21 points along with nine rebounds and four blocks. Bradley continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.
Richton's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-14. As for Mize, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-4.
Richton will be playing at home against Heidelberg at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Heidelberg presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Richton in Mississippi (Heidelberg is ranked 57th, while Richton is ranked 263rd). Mize won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Taylorsville at 6:00 p.m. on January 5th.
