After flying high against the McAdams Bulldogs last Thursday, The Ethel Tigers came back down to earth. Ethel fell 30-22 to Nanih Waiya on Friday. Ethel has struggled against Nanih Waiya recently, as their match on Friday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, Ethel had strong showings from Bobo Hubbert, who rushed for 125 yards and two touchdowns, and Marcus Jones, who rushed for 131 yards and a touchdown on only 13 carries. Jones was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 51 yards.
Ethel's defeat dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Nanih Waiya, their win bumped their record up to 3-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ethel will take on Noxapater at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Nanih Waiya, they will be playing at home against Velma Jackson at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Velma Jackson is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
