It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Glen Rose Tigers can now relate to. They were dealt a 79-42 loss at the hands of the Buckeyes on Friday. Glen Rose's defeat signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak.
Several Tigers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Camden Raymond, who rushed for 66 yards and two touchdowns, and also picked up 39 receiving yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Josiah Groeneweg, who picked up 196 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Will Henderson was his usual excellent self, rushing for 271 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 15.1 yards per carry for Gilmer. Henderson really tore up the turf during one magnificent 75-yard run. Another player making a difference was Cadon Tennison, who threw for 115 yards and two touchdowns.
Glen Rose's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-5. As for Gilmer, they pushed their record up to 12-3 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Glen Rose does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Gilmer will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Bellville at 3:00 p.m. on December 15th. One thing working in Bellville's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the field this season.
