The Waterbury Career Academy Spartans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 23 points or more this season. They breezed by Ansonia on the road to the tune of 85-46. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Waterbury Career Academy.
Andrew Williams continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 30 points along with five steals. The match was his eighth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zaire Lott, who scored 15 points.
Waterbury Career Academy's win was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 88.8 points per game. As for Ansonia, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Waterbury Career Academy will square off against Seymour at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Connecticut (Seymour is ranked 59th, while Waterbury Career Academy is ranked 70th). As for Ansonia, they will head out on the road to face off against Torrington at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Torrington and Ansonia are at an even 4-4 over their past eight head-to-heads.
