The Brownfield Cubs were the 32-26 winner over the Lamesa Tornadoes when they last played one another on January 2nd, but their luck changed this time around. Brownfield took a 31-24 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lamesa on Friday. Brownfield has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Alliey Coffey was Brownfield's leading scorer, having posted eight points.
Amery Pauda held things down on the boards with eight rebounds.
Brownfield has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-17 record this season. As for Lamesa, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 20-10 record this season.
Brownfield will head out on the road to challenge Friona at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lamesa, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Littlefield at 6:15 p.m. Littlefield is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games.
