After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Patrick Henry, Powhatan was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They never let the Monacan Chiefs get on the board and left with a 16-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won seven games by six runs or more so far this season.
Powhatan got a massive performance out of Mazie Harmon, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Those four RBI gave Harmon a new career-high. Payton Murray also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Powhatan always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Monacan only posted an OBP of .211.
Powhatan's win bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Monacan, their loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-9.
