It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Springville Red Devils had no problem doing just that on Friday. They didn't even let East onto the board and left with a 24-0 victory. The win was familiar territory for Springville who now have six in a row.
Springville was led to victory by Lisiate Valeti and Tevita Valeti. Valeti rushed for 28 yards and a touchdown, while Valeti rushed for 114 yards and two touchdowns. Valeti is absolutely dominating the rushing yard category: he's posted at least 100 every time he's taken the field this season.
Springville is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for East, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
Springville will look to defend their home field on Friday against Bountiful at 5:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (Bountiful is ranked 16th, while Springville is ranked 14th). East does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
