Uintah has gone 7-2 against Wasatch recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Utes will welcome the Wasps at 3:30 p.m. Uintah is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.7 runs per game this season.
Uintah is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Utah's top teams: Salem Hills, who was ranked third at the time (Uintah was ranked 17th). The Utes came up short against the Skyhawks on Saturday, falling 26-6. That makes it the first time this season the Utes have let down their home crowd.
Kynlee Bristol made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Wasatch). They came out on top against Payson by a score of 16-11 on Tuesday. While the Wasps didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-21), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
The team relied heavily on Sydnee McPhie, who fired off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-5. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Braelyn Hill, who went 4-for-5 with two stolen bases and two runs.
Wasatch was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .486. They are 7-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Wasatch is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Uintah, their loss dropped their record down to 6-2-1.
Wednesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Uintah hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .413. However, it's not like Wasatch struggles in that department as they've averaged .391. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Uintah's way against Wasatch when the teams last played back in April of 2025, as Uintah made off with a 9-3 win. Will the Utes repeat their success, or do the Wasps have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
