Ossining is 0-7 against White Plains since April of 2018 but things could change on Tuesday. The Pride will host the Tigers at 4:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.
On Wednesday, Ossining got the win against Port Chester by a conclusive 18-3. The win continues a trend for the Pride in their matchups with the Rams: they've now won five in a row.
Mia-Vasaliki Wilkins made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over 4.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits (and only one walk). Wilkins was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one triple.
In other batting news, Leaila Alexander was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Lindsay Saich was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and two stolen bases.
Ossining always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Port Chester only posted an OBP of .333.
Meanwhile, White Plains put their dominant pitcher on display in the team's seventh consecutive shutout on Saturday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Greeley a 12-0 shutout. Considering the Tigers have won eight games by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
The team relied heavily on Ava Galligani, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, four RBI, and one triple. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Abby Dorchak, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
White Plains pushed their record up to 11-2 with the victory, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average this season. As for Ossining, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
Ossining might still be hurting after the 13-0 defeat they got from White Plains when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Pride avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
