Middle College dropped their record down to 10-2 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Animo Venice Pirates by a score of 9-7. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pirates this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 25-5 on April 2nd.

As for Animo Venice, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 games. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games.

For Animo Venice's part, Sable Guerrero was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one home run. The team also got some help courtesy of Sofia Osorio, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.

Middle College wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 27-17 win against Animo Watts on the 2nd. As for Animo Venice, they have also already played their next contest, a 24-0 victory against Animo South Los Angeles on the 2nd.
