The Elmwood Park Tigers are taking a road trip to take on the Glenbard East Rams at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Elmwood Park's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 17-0 margin over Walther Christian Academy. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Broncos recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Abigail Jarosz made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 11 over four innings pitched. Jarosz was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs while going 4-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two).

In other batting news, Jessica Craig and Carole Akers did most of the damage at the plate: Craig went 2-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and three RBI, while Akers scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Those four runs gave Craig a new career-high. Leah Alvarado was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.
Elmwood Park was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .571. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .455 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Glenbard East). They blew past Streamwood 19-0 last Thursday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.
Keira Nelson and Althea Fitzgerald made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Nelson tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Fitzgerald tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. At the plate, Nelson scored three runs while going 1-for-2, while Fitzgerald scored two runs while going 1-for-3. Fitzgerald also put up a double, which was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Glenbard East let Lilly Carver and Alexis Amrhein run wild. Carver scored four runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Amrhein scored two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Carver continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Emma Jaras also deserves some recognition as she got her first hits of the season.
The victory made it two in a row for Glenbard East and bumps their season record up to 3-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Elmwood Park, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
