Keziyrehun Rivers had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 141 yards and one score. He is becoming a predictor of Forest's success: when he posts at least 80 rushing yards the team is 4-1 (and 1-2 when he doesn't).
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Forest was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 232 rushing yards. They are a perfect 4-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Forest's defense and their four sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece. Ethan Godin was another major factor on D, picking up a sack, making 12 total tackles, and defending one pass.
Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for West Port's offense. They were dealt a 57-0 loss at the hands of West Orange last Friday. The Wolf Pack's defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.
West Port's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Forest, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.
Friday's matchup might be decided in the trenches. Forest has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 191 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for West Port, though, as they've been averaging only 65.8 rushing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant running game?
Everything came up roses for Forest against West Port when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 59-19 victory. In that contest, the Wildcats amassed a halftime lead of 35-7, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
