The Bennington Badgers lost against the Platteview Trojans back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Bennington fell just short of Platteview by a score of 57-54. Bennington has not had much luck with Platteview recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Bennington's loss came despite strong showings from Gavin Olson and Austin Kaiser. Olson scored 21 points along with five rebounds, while Kaiser scored 14 points. The game was Kaiser's 11th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryce Dunning, who scored six points along with five rebounds.
Bennington's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-5. As for Platteview, they pushed their record up to 9-3 with that win, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.
Bennington won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Blair on January 6th. As for Platteview, they will head out on the road to face off against Ashland-Greenwood at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Ashland-Greenwood will be coming into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.
