Volleyball Recap: Delavan Starts Season with Win at Home

Delavan took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the Peoria Heights Patriots 2-1. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now won seven in a row.

Delavan was actually outscored in aggregate across those three sets (71-65), but they still managed to win. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 14-25, 26-24.

Kara Lowry paced Delavan's offense, picking up nine kills. Lowry got some help from Addison Fisher and her 17 assists. Lowry was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Delavan is headed away from home for the first time to challenge Havana at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Peoria Heights, they will square off against Brimfield at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
