Each year since 2006, MaxPreps has recognized outstanding performers in high school basketball. The tradition continues to close out the 2024-25 season by naming the top player in each state. Selections are based on team success and individual excellence in addition to local and state accolades.
Gavin Lowe of
Olympus (Salt Lake City) is the 2024-25 Utah MaxPreps Player of the Year. The 6-foot junior guard led the Titans to a 24-3 record and their second consecutive Class 5A state championship.
For the season, Lowe averaged 22.0 points, 5.6 assists, 4.9 rebounds and 2.5 steals per contest. He eclipsed 1,000 career points in a state semifinal victory over Timpview (Provo).
