The Chesterfield Golden Rams had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 36.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with a 52-41 win over Cheraw. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Chesterfield also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Kierra Diggs was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 24 points and 24 rebounds. She has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last nine times she's played. Another player making a difference was Kaylee Eubanks, who scored five points along with eight rebounds and five steals.
Cheraw's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaleah Faulkner, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. Faulkner is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last ten games she's played. Sa'Nya Murray was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Chesterfield's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.8 points per game. As for Cheraw, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-12.
Chesterfield will be playing in front of their home fans against the Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. North Central comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Cheraw, they will head out on the road to face off against the Volunteers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
