Baseball Recap: Palmyra's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Palmyra entered their tilt with Highland on Friday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They blew past the Cougars 21-6. Considering the Panthers have won nine matches by more than nine runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Bryant Horstmeier was a standout: he got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Henley Snow, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and three RBI.

Palmyra always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .744. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Palmyra pushed their record up to 14-9 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Highland, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-14-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Palmyra will venture away from home to take on Clopton at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Highland, they will face off against Canton at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
