2A Central Washington recap Oct. 23, 2012
Prosser was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after besting East Valley. The Mustangs came in at 24 in the state poll after placing at number 26 last week.
Othello extended the longest winning streak in 2A Central Washington this week by beating Toppenish, 61-3. The victory was the seventh in a row for the team.
Wapato's Anthony Alvadado and Garret Jacob have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Alvadado has thrown for 324 yards this season, while Jacob, a 5-foot-6 receiver, has seven catches for 82 yards. Domingo Luna from the Wildcats leads the league in rushing with 901 yards.
Toppenish's Luna is a mere 99 yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Ephrata takes on Prosser. The Tigers are currently in third, while Benji Sonnichsen's team is in second.
