Saks (Anniston, Ala.) captured the lead in the fourth quarter and held on for a 35-21 victory over
Glencoe (Ala.) on Saturday. The Wildcats captured the lead for good when
Timothy Johnson thew a touchdown to
Devin Harris.
The Wildcats led 21-7 at halftime, but the Yellowjackets recaptured the lead on a touchdown pass by Johnson to Harris with under a minute left in the fourth.
Saks saw its 14-point halftime lead fall to seven entering the fourth.
With the win SHS extended its winning streak to five games. The Anniston school defeated the Valley Cubs 12-7 last week.
Ladarius Young stood out for the Wildcats in the win. He ran for two touchdowns.
A 24-14 Saks victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.
Glencoe (2-4) will play a 3A Region 5 game against Cleveland next week, while Saks (5-1) will take on Weaver also in a 3A Region 5 game.
