The Center Point-Urbana Stormin' Pointers stumbled on the road on Saturday against Marion, but they seem to have regained their footing back home. The Stormin' Pointers claimed a resounding 59-27 win over the Mt. Vernon Mustangs at home. Center Point-Urbana was heavily favored coming into this matchup, and the results showcase why.
Center Point-Urbana's victory brought them up to 16-1. The loss dropped Mt. Vernon's record to 4-12.
Center Point-Urbana will take on Vinton-Shellsburg on Friday. Center Point-Urbana won't have the home-court advantage, but they do enjoy an advantage in the MaxPreps rankings. Mt. Vernon is on the road again on Tuesday and plays against West Delaware. West Delaware also suffered a recent defeat, falling 45-36 to Williamsburg.
