The Dupo Tigers struggled with three-point shooting accuracy on Monday (the Gibault Catholic Hawks were 20% better) and sadly the final score reflected it. Dupo had to suffer through a rough 67-34 loss at the hands of the Hawks. Dupo was down 63-31 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Dupo's loss came despite strong showings from Addison Mitchell and Keara Prater. Mitchell scored 11 points, while Prater scored ten points along with five rebounds.
Gibault Catholic's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Myah Ticer, who scored 17 points. It was the first time this season that Ticer scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Briana Baldridge, who scored 17 points.
Dupo's loss dropped their record down to 5-18. As for Gibault Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 8-18.
Dupo will be playing in front of their home fans against the Pirates at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Gibault Catholic, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Knights at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th. Metro-East Lutheran is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
