The LaFayette Bulldogs the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Beauregard Hornets at 5:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Friday, things could have been worse for LaFayette, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 43-28 loss to Lanett. While losing is never fun, LaFayette can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 359th, while Lanett is ranked 93rd).
Beauregard suffered their closest defeat yet this season on Friday. They fell just short of Valley by a score of 44-42.
Despite their defeat, Beauregard saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Kelise Culbertson, who scored nine points, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Lay Clark, who scored six points along with five rebounds.
LaFayette's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Beauregard, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-9.
LaFayette beat Beauregard 34-27 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Will LaFayette repeat their success, or does Beauregard have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
