University and Woodbridge are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The University Trojans will head out on the road to square off against the Woodbridge Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. University is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
Even though Laguna Hills scored an imposing 71 points on Friday, University still came out on top. University took their game against Laguna Hills 79-71.
It was another big night for Christian Debarge, who went 6 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 41 points and 4 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Shervin Moarrefian, who scored 16 points.
Meanwhile, Woodbridge didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Irvine on Friday, but they still walked away with a 52-46 win. Given Woodbridge's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 132nd, while Irvine is ranked 406th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
University's record is now 7-13. As for Woodbridge, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season.
University suffered a grim 69-48 defeat to Woodbridge in their previous meeting back in January of 2023.
