Bountiful has gone a perfect 10-0 against Woods Cross recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Redhawks will challenge the Wildcats at 3:30 p.m. Bountiful is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.
On Friday, Bountiful got the win against Green Canyon by a conclusive 12-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Redhawks.
Carpenter Dylan was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Dylan was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.
In other pitching news, Anna Pickering looked comfortable as she struck out seven batters over 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on McKinley Duryea, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Brenna Wentworth, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
Bountiful was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 16 runs the game before, Woods Cross was a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They lost 16-1 to Deseret Peak.
Woods Cross saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sadie Wall, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run.
Woods Cross has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.1 runs over those games. As for Bountiful, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.
Tuesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Bountiful hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .345. However, it's not like Woods Cross struggles in that department as they've averaged .329. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Bountiful's way against Woods Cross in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, as Bountiful made off with a 9-3 win. Will the Redhawks repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
