Tracy barely beat Lodi the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bulldogs' pitcher stepped up to hand the Flames a 13-0 shutout on Wednesday. Hayden Fell made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with two doubles and one RBI.
In other batting news, Emalee Cargill and Emry Couch did most of the damage at the plate: Cargill fired off two home runs, two stolen bases, and four RBI while going 3-for-5, while Couch scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Lodi, their defeat ended a 14-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 11-5.
Coincidentally, Tracy and Lodi will both be playing Lincoln the next time they take the field. The Bulldogs will host the Trojans at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Flames will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
