The Berea-Midpark Titans were the 79-70 winner over the Avon Eagles when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Berea-Midpark took a 71-62 hit to the loss column at the hands of Avon on Tuesday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (57), Berea-Midpark still had to take the loss.
Berea-Midpark's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Masyn Zahursky, who scored 25 points along with seven rebounds, and Austin Clay who scored 16 points along with seven assists and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Tyson Clay, who scored three points along with five assists and two steals.
Berea-Midpark's loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-5. As for Avon, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.
Berea-Midpark will look to defend their home court on Friday against North Ridgeville at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Berea-Midpark focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Tuesday. As for Avon, they will head out on the road to take on Midview at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Midview will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 308th, while Avon is ranked 131st).
