Baseball Recap: Valencia Has No Trouble Against Texico

Valencia came out on top against Texico on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run fourth inning. The Jaguars blew past the Wolverines 11-1. Considering the Jaguars have won six games by more than eight runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Zayden Chiwewe was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run. Yovan Suarez was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Valencia was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Texico only posted a batting average of .111.

Valencia now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Texico, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-3.

Coming up, Valencia will welcome Grants at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Pirates will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Jaguars surely won't give up without a fight. As for Texico, they will head out on the road to square off against Grady at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
