In what's become a running theme this season, the Front Range Baptist Falcons gave their fans yet another huge win on Thursday. They breezed by Lone Star on the road to the tune of 64-31. Given Front Range Baptist's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 148th, while Lone Star is ranked 306th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Alex Prelog was his usual excellent self, scoring 14 points along with nine rebounds and seven steals. He has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Stephen Manthei, who scored 11 points along with three steals.
Front Range Baptist's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Lone Star, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Front Range Baptist will face off against Loveland Protestant Reformed Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Lone Star, they will head out on the road to square off against Idalia at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Idalia has five straight victories, Lone Star has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
