Clawson is 1-6 against Shrine Catholic since April of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Trojans will be playing at home against the Knights at 4:30 p.m. Clawson is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.4 runs per game this season.
On Tuesday, Clawson made easy work of Ferndale and carried off a 13-3 victory. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won 15 contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

Shane Dunlap made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 13 batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. Those 13 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Elliott Groves was a standout: he went 3-for-5 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Jackson Hein was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and two RBI.
Clawson kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.3 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matchups they've averaged 9.4.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Shrine Catholic ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They skirted past Mott 5-4. Winning may never get old, but the Knights sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
The team relied heavily on Caydin Barbato, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Jackson Poulton, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
Clawson has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 17 of their last 20 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-7-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.4 runs over those games. As for Shrine Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 16-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Clawson has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Shrine Catholic struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
