Bishop Diego moved up to 160 from 198 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Tri-Valley. The Cardinals climbed the ranks as a result of besting Oak Park 49-7.
Nordhoff extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Carpinteria, 49-28. This was the team's eighth consecutive win.
Santa Paula's dynamic duo of Christian Garcia and Juan Carlos Magana proved tough for Santa Clara to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Garcia threw for 254 yards and two touchdowns and Magana had 103 yards receiving. Ramiro Montano III helped Santa Paula's passing attack out by catching two balls for 79 yards.
Tayler Livingston was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 14 carries, he ran for 151 yards as Nordhoff beat the Saints. Matt Woodcock also contributed to the rushing game with 69 yards on the ground.
Nordhoff's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Rangers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Tanner Workman has thrown for 1545 yards and 19 touchdowns this season, while Eric Lara has 30 catches for 597 yards. Livingston leads the league in rushing with 839 yards.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Nordhoff takes on second place Bishop Diego. Tony Henney's team beat the Warriors last week, while Bishop Diego defeated the Eagles.
There should be lots of points scored when the Rangers and Tom Crawford's team face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Nordhoff comes in having scored 330 this season, while the Cardinals have scored 361. The Rangers scored 49 points last week as they topped Carpinteria.
