Football Recap: Rylan Tisdall Leads Lutheran's Defense on Thursday

If Kennedy wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Lutheran, they should've done a better job of containing Eli Abramson. The Lions blew past the Commanders 42-0 on Thursday with plenty of help from Abramson, who threw for 179 yards and four touchdowns while completing 90% of his passes. He is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in each of the last six games he's played.

Lutheran's defense made their presence known, laying out Marcelis Allen three times. In that department, Rylan Tisdall was the leader with two sacks. Lutheran received some extra help from Tisdall, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Lutheran is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to yards per carry: they averaged an imposing 7.91 yards per carry in those games compared to only 3.33 in the others. As for Kennedy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-6.

Looking ahead, Lutheran will venture away from home to face off against Eagle Valley at 7:00 p.m. on the 14th. The Devils' defense has only allowed 10.5 points per game this season, so the Lions' offense will have their work cut out for them. Kennedy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
