The Trinity Shamrocks waltzed into their game Wednesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They walked away with a 72-60 victory over Milton Hershey. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Leading Trinity to victory were Reece Brown and Owen Schlager. Brown scored 22 points along with five steals, while Schlager scored 27 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Schlager has scored at least 25% of Trinity's points. The team also got some help courtesy of CJ Nadzam, who scored six points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
Several Spartans players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jason Burney, who scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Abdou Diene, who scored 13 points.
Trinity's win was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.4 points per game. As for Milton Hershey, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-1.
Trinity will head out on the road to face off against Steelton-Highspire at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Milton Hershey, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mechanicsburg at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
