Basketball Recap: Rico Duenas Key Part of a Team Effort in Dolphins Win

There's no place like home for Sterne, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. They secured a 35-30 W over the June Jordan School of Equity Jaguars on Wednesday. The 35-point effort marked the Dolphins' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sterne to victory, but perhaps none more so than Rico Duenas, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds. Duenas is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Andrew Jones, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.

Sterne smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

June Jordan School of Equity lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Sir'Elmo Wright, who posted 15 points. Jacob Fitch was another key player, putting up nine points.

Sterne now has a winning record of 3-2. As for June Jordan School of Equity, their defeat was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-5.
